Yakubu still in my plan - Keshi

DESPITE moving to China, Nigerian international Yakubu Aiyegbeni could still make his way back into the Super Eagles team as coach Keshi has declared that he still has a future with the team.
Most soccer lovers have already written off the former Everton striker from being called up for
national team duty after making a switch from England to China where he now features for Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese leaue.

"No I've never said Yakubu will not be part of my team anymore. "I think people are just imagining or speculating that because he's gone to play in China that ends his chance of being part of this team.
"I think we should be fair to every player capable of playing for this country. The Chinese league has recruited a lot of quality players recently and that will make it competitive. Didier Drogba and Seydou Keita, who play for Cote d'Ivoire and Mali respective, are there (in China) and they're still with their national teams.
"If Yakubu is doing well out there and he comes here and proves that he's good enough then he is welcomed. Nobody is talking of any player getting an automatic place and they all know this," said Keshi.
The 29 year old Yakubu who got off his Chinese adventure to a scoring start by grabbing the winner in the Super League derby against Guangzhou Evergrande on July 15 was also on song last Sunday scoring in the 26th minute in a 2-1 home loss to Tianjin Teda.
