Around 2,600 foreign students could be deported from Britain after their university was stripped of its ability to sponsor visas for pupils beyond the European Union, the government announced Thursday. The move provoked dismay from students and accusations that the move by the Conservative-led government, which is bent on reducing immigration, could damage Britain’s global reputation.


Pipeline Explosion Kills People In Ogun State

A fire broke out killing some persons in Arepo village as pipeline vandals attempted to steal petroleum products.

Several burnt corpses have been seen at the scene of a pipeline fire n Arepo, Ogun State.

Officials of the Fire Service and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Thursday evening, battled to put out the fire that broke out from a bust pipeline.

Harvard University In Exam Cheating Scandal

Dozens of students at Harvard University are being investigated for allegedly helping each other cheat in an exam, officials say.

Up to 125 students in one undergraduate course are suspected of sharing answers or plagiarising.

Possible cheating was found in about half of exam papers handed in by the class, which has at least 250 students.

The woman asked her why she was crying, but the little girl couldn't really express herself. She just kept pointing at a particular direction, and crying. Then a few minutes later, the shop owner saw a man approaching her shop and calling on the girl to follow him. The woman asked the man who he was and why he was after the girl. The man probably realized the women wasn't going to release the girl to him, so he tried to run. The woman raised an alarm immediately shouting ole ole, thinking he was a kidnapper, not knowing he had done something much worse

Emekuku Family of 9 Died Of Generator Fume – Imo State Govt

On Monday July 9th, nine members of the same family died mysteriously in their home. Neighbours and other family members said their deaths was spiritual.

But the Imo state government said it has finally unraveled the cause of death of the Emekuku family. According to the autopsy result released yesterday by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Obi Njoku, they were killed by generator fume poisoning.

The commissioner said the family slept and forgot to switch off their generator set and subsequently died as a result of the generator fume they inhaled while asleep and not by ‘evil spirits'

US Approves Once-a-day HIV Pill

A new pill to treat HIV infection -- combining two previously approved drugs plus two new ones -- has been approved for adults living with the virus that causes AIDS, US regulators said.
The single daily dose of Stribild provides a complete treatment regimen for HIV infection, the US Food and Drug Administration said in a statement, and is meant for people who have not already received treatment with other HIV drugs.

Son Dies Chasing Father’s Alleged Kidnappers In Onitsha

AWKA—A YOUNG man in his early twenties, Mr. Junior Egbunike, was, yesterday, confirmed dead following injuries sustained while pursuing his father’s kidnappers at the commercial town of Onitsha.

Mr. Amulunanma Egbunike was returning home with his wife and son simply known as Junior after the day’s business at the weekend in Onitsha and as they got very close to their house at the Onitsha Inland Town, hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers blocked his car and dragged him into their own car and drove off.

His son, who was driving his father’s car, pursued them with his mother also in the car. But barely 400 meters away, the car got involved in a head on collision with another car and both mother and son sustained serious injuries.

Junior, who had been in coma since the incident, gave up the ghost yesterday at a hospital in Onitsha, while his mother had been discharged from hospital.

With the death of Junior, the Egbunike family has lost the only child left, having lost the family’s only daughter some years ago.

Meantime, the kidnapped Egbunike is yet to regain his freedom.

The police refused to allow pressmen take photos of the suspects when they were paraded yesterday. They were only allowed to take photos of their backs. Why are they hiding their faces? They tortured and took a life and the police are concerned about hiding their faces?

Meanwhile the guy in grey, Echezona Nwabufor, 33 (left) was the person Cynthia met. He's a 300 level Accounting student of the University of Lagos...and according to him, they didn't meet on Facebook, they met on Blackberry group chat.

He told pressmen yesterday that he didn't mean to kill Cynthia; that it was all a mistake. His explanation when you continue.
