A schizophrenic South Bronx man confessed Tuesday to dismembering his mom and scattering her body parts in garbage bags across the South Bronx, police sources said.

Deranged suspect Bashid McLean, 23 (pictured right), implicated himself in the gruesome death after investigators recovered a saw inside the apartment where he lived with victim Tanya Byrd (pictured right) and his 7-year-old brother, Nasyr.

Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram, has released a video showing the French family kidnapped in Cameroon, near the border with Nigeria.The three minutes, 26 seconds video, posted on YouTube on Monday, shows the seven members of the Moulin Fournier family, kidnapped on February 19.The video shows three adult members of the family-two men and one woman; and four children sitting between two armed men, masked, and in military fatigue, and a third who acted as the group spokesperson.

Missing engineer, Akanbi Oluwatoyin, found dead in Ifo, Ogun State

A week after oil engineer Akanbi Oluwatoyin was declared missing by his family, he has been found dead in Ifo Ogun State according to a family member.

Akanbi and his silver 2008 Highlander with plate no: SMK975AS went missing around 5:30am on Monday February 18th on his way to work. His corpse was found in Ifo yesterday by the police but his car was not found. Akanbi worked with an oil company in Lekki and had to no business in Ogun State on that fateful day, so friends believe he was driven there and killed.

The police are currently investigating his death. So sad. Rest in peace, Amen.

CCTV punch attacks: Nigerian Michael Ayoade jailed for 4 years

The 35 year old Nigerian man, Michael Ayoade, who was caught on CCTV punching a teenage girl and a female student, and leaving them unconscious on the ground, has been jailed for four years.

Michael attacked female student, Daniella Montieth, in 2011, without any provocation. She was taken to the hospital with a broken tooth after he hit her in the side of the head at Plaistow tube station. Then on November 13th 2012 he jogged up behind a 16-year-old girl in the High Street and punched her in the head. The teenager fell to the ground, breaking three of her teeth. (pictured below)

A 34-year old man, Kehinde Paul Layode, has been arraigned before a family court in Ikeja for allegedly defiling a three-year old girl (name withheld).

The incident, which happened at 3/5, John Crescent, Igando, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, was reported at the Igando Police Station.

The accused, if found guilty, risks spending a minimum of five years in jail under the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.

Four students killed in Nassarawa State University protest

Four students have allegedly been shot dead by soldiers during a protest by students of Nassarawa State University, Keffi , early this morning.  The students after 2weeks of lack of water hit the roads and school vicinity to protest. The school authorities called in soldiers to restore peace but it backfired resulting to the death of four students.

Police arrest 2 people over acid attack on Naomi Oni

UK police revealed today that a 21 year old woman and a 28 year old man have been arrested in connection with the acid attack on Naomi Oni...a few days after they said they suspected she poured the liquid on herself.

Naomi Oni was left partially blind after she was attacked on her way from work on December 30th 2012 by a woman she said was wearing an Islamic niqab.

House wife stabbed to death by mother in-law

Tragedy struck Wednesday evening at Angwar Baba area of New Nyanya, Nassarawa State, when a 24-year-old mother of two, Esther Opara was allegedly stabbed to death by her mother in-law.The deceased hailed from Enugu State while her mother-in-law is from Umuopara, Umuahia, Abia State.The deceased’s aunt, Mrs. Faith Okpudo, told Daily trust that while at Kano, she received a call from her elder sister Wednesday night that her niece has been stabbed to death by her mother-in-law after arguments over photographs.

Policemen attached to Ilemba Hausa division have arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his brother, a Merchant Navy to death while he was asleep. 

The incident, occurred at the early hours of Wednesday morning  February 21 at Oritse Street in Imude community, under Oto-Awori local development council area of Lagos.

Oscar Pistorius' older brother also accused of killing a woman

Carl Pistorius (left), the older brother of the Blade Runner, accused of killing his girlfriend, is also facing a manslaughter charge. Carl is charged with culpable homicide over the accidental death of a woman in a car crash in 2010.

His lawyer Kenny Oldwage, who also represents Oscar Pistorius, confirmed the charges today. Carl Pistorius appeared in court just two days before his brother's bail hearing last week, according to the Daily Mail.

The thought of the incident that led to the brutal killing of at least seven family members gave the young lady of 24, a frightful look.

Inside the bathroom where Blade Runner' shot dead his girlfriend

The bathroom is now the focus of a murder inquiry.

Meanwhile Boxes of 'steroids, testosterone' and needles were found at the Blade Runner's home where he shot girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead after 'non-stop' arguing, a court heard today.

The details were revealed by the prosecution on the second day of the 26-year-old athlete's bail hearing at Pretoria Magistrates' Court where he faces a charge of premeditated murder.

Pistorius looked distraught and sobbed with his head lowered as the packed court heard the post-mortem showed three entrance wounds - the bullets hit the right side of Miss Steenkamp's head, her right elbow - which resulted in a broken arm - and her hip.

Richard Mofe Damijo in N50 Million Fraud scandal - EFCC

  Philo Nkem Ajufo, the acting General Manager of Delta State Tourism Board, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja over her role in a financial scheme. Ms. Ajufo is reportedly being quizzed for conniving with her boss, Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), to embezzle N50 million from the state Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Mr. Mofe Damijo, a well known Nollywood star, is the commissioner in charge of the ministry. Our EFCC said the commissioner was also being sought by the anti-corruption agency, but he has been elusive.An EFCC source confirmed Ms. Ajufo’s arrest. “As we talk, the Delta State Tourism GM, one Mrs. Nkem Ajufo, is been held in our headquarters here in Abuja over her involvement in the N50 million fraud. Her boss, Mr. Richard Mofe Damijo, is not left out but as we speak he is still avoiding us,” said the source.

Disturbing new images have emerged of the dead body of the 12-year-old son of a Tamil leader that researchers say could prove he was executed by Sri Lankan government forces.

The photographs of Balachandran Prabhakaran, son of Velupillai Prabhakaran, head of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, were taken in May 2009 at the end of the government's conflict with the rebels.

The first pictures appear to show the child in the custody of Sri Lankan forces and he is seen sitting on a bench wrapped in a blanket and eating some food.

mass shooting in California - at least 3 dead

At least three people are dead after a shooting spree stretching from Ladera Ranch into Tustin and Orange.

It all started around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday when Orange County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from a home on Red Leaf Lane in Ladera Ranch.

One female was pronounced dead at the location, according to sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.
The suspect, a male in his 20s, fled in an SUV into the Tustin area, where there were multiple shootings, Amormino said.

Report following the autopsy carried out after her  sudden death  at the Lagos State  University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos  revealed that the Kennis Music star, suffered a terminal ‘hypertensive heart disease’ which resulted to’ intracerebellar haemorrhage.’  The autopsy carried out February 19, was  signed by Dr. O.O Oyewole of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine. The burial arrangement for the former  Big Brother Africa house mate will be announced by the family.

Goldie  died on Valentine’s Day shortly after she returned from Los Angeles, United States where she attended the 55th Grammy Awards.

 Veteran actor and Mavin artist, Dr sid's father, Justus Esiri  has passed on. The actor who  was famous for his role in the popular 80's sitcom Village Headmaster died last night. He died in a Lagos hospital due to critical complications arising from Diabetes.  May his soul Rest In Peace...Amen.

Oscar Pistorius gives a terrifying account of how he shot and killed his girlfriend

Oscar Pistorius appeared in court today and gave his account of what happened at his home the night he shot his girlfriend dead. 

He claimed he had been on the balcony of his house when he heard noises from the bathroom. Believing Reeva Steenkamp was asleep in bed, he grabbed his gun and shouted a warning before firing four shots through the door. It was only then, Pistorius claims that he realised Miss Steenkamp was not in bed.

'I kicked the door open,' he said  'I tried to help her but she died in my arms.'

Gunman kills lover, 7 family members in Lagos

It was a bloody weekend at Igando area of Lagos State, when a suspected kidnapper said to be operating in Delta State, attacked the Lagos home of his girlfriend, killing her and seven others.

Vanguard gathered that the alleged kidnapper, identified simply as Henry, who is currently on the run, stormed the home of his girlfriend known as Sandra, around 10 p.m on Saturday, with an Ak-47 rifle and opened fire on all the occupants of the apartment, leaving Sandra, her elder sister, with two of her elder sister’s children dead.

Sandra’s twin sister and one of her elder sister’s daughter, however, survived.

Oscar Pistorius case: Cartoon reveals how he shot and killed his girlfriend (photos)

New cartoon images suggesting that South African Blade Runner, Oscar Pistorius killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp have surfaced.

We all heard and read the sad valentine event that took place, Pistorius shot his model girlfriend who he claimed he mistook for a burglar.

Police investigating the case discovered Reeva's ipad in his room, a cricket bat with blood on it, the bedsheet in his room which showed that someone slept in it and a Steroid drugs were found at Pistorius’s home together with evidence of heavy drinking.

The cartoon by South Africa's City Press suggests Reeva was hit first in the bedroom then again as she cowered in the bathroom sitting on the toilet seat. See pics below...

    An explosion under the Festac Link Bridge, on Monday, killed one person and left another seriously injured.

The impact of the blast left the body parts of Pius Oladele, head of the sand dredgers association in the area, flying in different directions.

Emergency rescue officials, who arrived minutes after the noon incident, used shovel to scoop pieces of bloodied body parts scattered on the ground into a bag.

Ex Green Eagles star Okey Isima dies at 56

Former Rangers International FC of Enugu and Green Eagles of Nigeria defender, Okey Isima, is dead. The ex footballer turned engineer died in Abuja yesterday Monday February 18th after a brief illness. He was 56.

Okey Isima was a member of the Eagles team that won the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations in Lagos and also played at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.

Okey was based in Atlanta Georgia for many years before relocating to Nigeria a few years ago 'to contribute his quota in bringing back the lost glory of Nigerian football'.

He is survived by his wife and four children.

Prophet arrested with two bottles filled with blood, human parts in Lagos

A prophet of a white garment church in Lagos is presently being held by the police in Lagos State for being in possession of plastic bottles filled with blood and human parts.The prophet was arrested alongside two other men at the Ikotun/Egbeda area of Lagos State on Saturday.One of the suspects, identified as Kunle Olaide was carrying a polythene bag and was accosted by somepolicemen around Ikotun area.As soon as the policemen stopped Olaide, his partner, who was walking with him, bolted .This action prompted the policemen to believe that something was fishy as they swooped on Olaide and got him arrested.

60yr old man slaps 19 month old toddler on a plane in racist attack

A man has been accused of racially abusing then physically assaulting a 19-month-old child on a flight to Atlanta last Friday.

Joe Rickey Hundley, 60, allegedly demanded that the mother of the crying toddler 'shut that n****r baby up' before slapping the infant in the face on the Delta flight on February 8.

According to The Smoking Gun, Hundley has been charged with simple assault after the incident with Jessica Bennett, 33, and her son Jonah.
