Super Eagles win the 2013 African Cup Of Nations

It’s celebration time in Nigeria tonight as the Super Eagles have emerged winners of the 2013 African Cup of Nations!
At the tournament which took place in South Africa, Nigeria and Burkina Faso made it to the finals with the Super Eagles defeating The Stallions 1-0 in a very exciting match. Sunday Mba scored the winning goal of the match in the 40th minute.

Before the tournament, the Super Eagles were written off as fallen giants and were no longer considered as a force on the African scene. However, the team’s coach Stephen Keshi rejuvenated the team, putting together a blend of European and home-based players.
The performances of Sunday Mba, Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike were especially exceptional during the tournament as they displayed exemplary performances during the matches.
For Nigeria, this is the third time we’re winning the tournament as we’ve won previously in 1980 and 1994. But for Burkina Faso it was their first ever final appearance.
We are so proud of the Super Eagles and can’t wait to see the Gold trophy here in Nigeria.
Once again, we can proudly say we are the Champions of Africa. Congratulations Nigeria!
