PDP Thanks People Of Enugu State, Nigerians As Chime Returns

Sullivan Chime

The PDP has expressed gratitude to the people of Enugu State for praying for Gov. Sullivan Chime, while he was receiving medical treatment abroad.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Olisa Metuh, in a statement he issued in Abuja on Thursday, said that the peoples’ prayer for the governor showed that they appreciated him and his good work.

Information Nigeria recalls that Chime left the country for London on Sept. 15, 2012 for medical treatment. Chime embarked on the trip after returning from a tour of Germany with governors of Rivers, Katsina, Plateau, Nasarawa and Borno, who had gone to understudy German system of government.
He arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at 6 am on Thursday, after being away for over four months on accounts of ill-health.
“We thank the good people of Enugu State, and indeed, all Nigerians whose prayers ensured the successful return of the governor.
“We daresay that the love shown to the governor by all and sundry during his period of incapacitation is a clear indication that our people appreciate the good work of the governor,” Metuh said.

He expressed confidence that the governor would consolidate on the tremendous achievements of his administration, now that he was back to work.
Metuh added that the party’s leadership received with joy the news of the governor’s return and thanked God for restoring his health. He also thanked functionaries of the State Government and the state PDP officers for their loyalty and commitment to the party’s ideals while the governor was away. (NAN)
