Reps Approve Emergency Rule Extension In Borno, Yobe, Adamawa States

House-of-Reps
The House of Representatives has followed in the footsteps of the Senate by approving President Goodluck Jonathan’s request to extend the emergency rule he declared on May 12, 2013, in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states by six months.

President Jonathan had based his request in line with the provisions of Section 305 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The Rep members passed a resolution approving the extension after a closed-door meeting with service chiefs that ended at about 2pm on Wednesday.

The meeting was presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
