Reed was driving McMillian's vehicle when it crashed head-on into another car the same day the popular 34 year old Mississippi politician went missing. Police are investigating the murder but do not believe it was politically motivated. They are trying to find out the connection between Reed and McMillian and also establish if he was targeted because of his sexual orientation which is what most people think.
