A student of Lagos State University (LASU) was shot and
stabbed to death yesterday while leaving the school through the Iba gate after
writing a test at Faculty of Management Science by some suspected cult members.
The deceased, Damilola Olaniyan, a student of Banking and
Finances ,was an upcoming Hip Hop artiste popularly known as Damino Damoche.
Damoche had a misunderstanding with some members of a of
cult group over an undisclosed issue before they killed him.
The incident happened around 4pm when Damoche was leaving
school. Some guys wielding guns and machetes on a bike started shooting at him
and even after he fell to the ground, they stabbed him repeatedly before
fleeing.
Olaniyan, a native of Ogun State, was popular on campus
having produced songs with DJ Zeez and Konga in the past which had received
considerable airplay.
The policemen attached to Igando Division evacuated and
deposited the corpse at Badagry General Hospital Mortuary.
