How Jealous Boyfriend Plotted Ex-Ikeja Council Boss, Toyin Hamzat’s Assassination

Five suspects have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command over the gruesome murder of the Former Chairman of Ikeja local government, Mr.Toyin Hamzat in Sagamu area of Ogun State.

Mr. Hamzat was said to have been assassinated at around 9:30 pm last Sunday.

Investigations revealed that the former council boss was with his lover in Sagamu when some unknown gunmen opened fire on him

From information available to us, it was said that the boyfriend of the lady had warned the late politician severally to stop seeing the lady, but the late Hamzat turned deaf ears as he continued to enjoy the affair with the lady.

We were told that the jealous boyfriend then decided to deal with Hamzat which made him contract some cult boys in Sagamu to eliminate the politician.

Those arrested according to findings include the lady, the jealous boyfriend and three others.

According to sources, the taxi that was used by the assassins allegedly belongs to the jealous boyfriend.

The five suspects have been taken to the police headquarters Eleweran, Abeokuta for investigation.

Spokesman of the Police Command, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident and added that five suspects have been arrested by the command in connection with the gruesome murder of the former council boss.

Mr. Hamzat, a native of Aiyepe Ijebu in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State was said to have been heading to his native town before deciding to pay a visit to his lover where he met his untimely death.

Mr Hamsat,was also a former Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola on Health matters.
