Nigeria's House of Representatives has absolved one of
its own, Honourable Farouk Lawan (Kano State) of any wrongdoing
in a bribery allegation levelled against him by oil magnate Femi Otedola.
The House had began a probe into the allegations against Farouk who chaired the Adhoc committee that reviewed transactions between the Federal government and oil marketers following Government's failed bid to remove petroleum subsidy.
Farouk was accused by Otedola of receiving 600,000 dollars from him to ensure that the name of his company was removed from the list of oil marketers indicted by the Farouk led Committee.
A sting operation carried out by the SSS was reported to have caught Farouk on camera receiving the said money from Otedola in his home in the country's capital, Abuja.
