Former vice president of Ghana, Alhaji Aliu Mahama has died.
The 66-year-old died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in
Ghana at 9.45 am on Friday, an official statement said.
Reports say he has been on life support at the hospital for
more than 10 days.
Alhaji Mahama served under the John Agyekum Kufuor
administration as vice president from 2001 to January 7, 2009.
He becomes the second highest personality in Ghana to have
died in 2012 after the death of President John Evans Atta Mills on July 24.
